So Quinns actual birthday is a bit of an exhausted fog. Every year on his birthday I take pictures of everything we do all day so he can look back and remember all the special little things we've done. Ho-ly buckets, I am so glad we had started that tradition at the beginning, if we hadn't done it this year none of us would remember a single second!
i saw the idea on pinterest(duh) to fill the room with balloons for when they wake up. Note: you will have a headache for the whole day from blowing up all those balloons but it was so fun and totally worth it!
i just would like to pretend like i made that special birthday cinnamon roll and didn't run to a nearby coffee shop at 6am to buy it. since i was in the middle of moving i give myself permission to pretend. isnt it so pretty and perfect? im such a good baker.
opening his card from great grandma kreitlow. im sure cards will get less exciting when he gets older but for now he loves them so much. he keeps them and reads them over and over and over because they are the most special! thank you great grandma Jan!
opening his card from great grandma julie. so now that i think of it, none of us kinder kids ever got sick of cards from grandma julie. she has ten million grandkids and we each STILL get one every year! you know how when you have grandparents that live far away you just assume that they never think about you? getting that card in the mail reminds me that i am just definitely her favorite. (all of my cousins and siblings probably think the same thing so we should just not tell them that im the real one because it might make them sad).
it was the just fanciest card ever. he still has it in his room 4 months later.....i mean from like a few days ago since i immediately blogged this...................shut up.
we spent the entire day out at the farmhouse working with my amazing family
this is our new puppy. she was NOT a birthday present for quinn. if it was up to him,a better present would have been to immediately get rid of her! hes so serious about it....he just really does not like her. maybe someday he'll warm up to her...they have their nice moments, but most of the time he just hates her so bad.
i felt pretty sad that we didn't go somewhere super special and devote the whole day to spoiling the crap out of him but really, he was playing outside all day with all of his most favorite people and i think that's what he would have chosen if he had a choice so im over it.
papa got him this tractor. he immediately hooked a dog leash up to the back and tied every toy with wheels to it so it would pull things and be useful. he's a real farmer.
i didn't have time to get him a cake so Travis ran to Costco and bought this 15lb chocolate monstrosity. Oh my gosh.
i couldn't have asked for a more good natured little person. we are so blessed and grateful for him every day.
