good friday

the kings and kreitlows hosted a good friday dinner in the backyard and invited a bunch of friends, my brother and sister, and their significant others.  we ate very delicious food, the kids ran around and dyed easter eggs, and at the end we gathered around the fire and took communion together to remember what Jesus did for us.  it wasn't mushy or fancy but heartfelt and pretty perfect.  i of course only got pictures of the egg dyeing.  

                       

easter bible study

 every other thursday or so i hold a toddler bible study at my house.  it's so sweet and i JUST LOVE IT.      i've never gotten pictures of it but here are some of the egg hunt we did at the last one.

last week we got chickens.  a few days later the pennebakers (and saige) came over to murder peeps with us and smoosh them between graham crackers and chocolate.  that's right people...we made peeps smores.  oh those chickens must have been soooo scared watching us heartlessly thrust those baby chicks into the perfect smoldering coals.  but AHHH THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD!!!!!  and also, the chickens were probably MORE scared that matt pennebaker was going to snuggle them to death.

this spring has brought us so many lovely days so far, (also, snow, but i'm a glass half full kinda girl), i'm just hoping and hoping for so many more beautiful evenings with friends as the days get nicer and warmer! 

my birthday

i flew home from the funeral early on my birthday.  i was emotionally exhausted, had a suuuuuuuuuuper bad cold that relapsed while i was refusing to sleep the entire time we were in carson. i don't know when i've ever been such a wreck.  i did NOT feel like it was my birthday, that's for darn sure.  but so adorably, matt roped cortney and lonnie into throwing me a surprise birthday party and it was so sweet, it made all of the crazy disappear.

misty baker still loves all of our babies even though she has  a bunch of her own now.  i'm so glad about both of those things. 

two words- BABY.  FEVER.

i was missing quinn so much after being away from him for days.  i got tummy butterflies the minute we landed because i was so excited.  i  sat in the backseat with him and held his hand all the way home.  i missed matt too but i've been away from him before.
